Page ranking and link submissions - been there…
Posted on 23 August, 2006A while ago I wrote about link submissions and automation using LinkMetro. This system uses an automated php script along with a mySql database to enable visitors to your site to submit a link for inclusion on your links page. The system works well but I have my doubts whether reciprocal linking of this nature has any effect on page ranking and traffic. Google has undergone many changes to its algorithms of late apparently and many of the links that were submitted to me were of very poor quality and of little relevance which I think Google can now detect.
The service from LinkMetro in itself is very good - it does exactly what it says on the can and Brad Callen does know a thing or two about SEO. I gave it a try and just don’t think it was right for my site. If you have any other experiences drop a comment in as I am intrigued to know.
