This blog has been a bit neglected of late, I apologise but I have been really busy with a few new projects that have taken all my time. Anyway, I’m back and have a few thoughts for you.

We in the English speaking world tend to assume that everyone else reads and speaks English. Of course this just isn’t true and the web being a global entity, we could be missing out on a lot of traffic from other nations just because our content is in English. Now, apart from O-level French I really have very little in the way of foreign language skills and I certainly can’t translate my sites. Paying for this to be done could cost a small fortune that may be difficult to recoup.

However, new to the market is a product from the same stable as Adsense Gold called, wait for it, Translation Gold. This script automatically translates all your pages into around nine languages at the press of a button. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the translation but it would appear good enough to drive some additional traffic to your sites. I am trying it out on a control site at the moment - I’ll let you know if it bumps up the stats.
